Pellet Fire Servicing and Cleaning
Now that you have invested in a Pellet Fireplace for your home, it is important to protect your investment by ensuring the efficient running and safety of your fire.
You can do this easily by booking in a regular annual servicing of your pellet fire by a qualified technician or service agent.
- Ensure the safety of your pellet fire
- Maximise efficient heating
- Keep your warranty valid
Pellet fires use sophisticated technology to keep emissions low and heat your home as efficiently as possible. Having a regular service will ensure you continue to
receive superior heating performance, and should only take approximately 1 hour.
Please ensure that you keep a copy of your service record for future reference. In order to validate your warranty, also ensure you are burning wood pellets manufactured to the standard AS/NZS 4013:1999.
What does a 'service' mean for my fire?
Over time and after prolonged use, a pellet fire, like a gas or wood fire, or indeed like any household appliance, will gather dust, suffer some wear and tear, and require at least annual attention to keep it running efficiently and effectively.
The main areas covered in a service are:
- Burn Pot and Burn Pot Liner
Ensure the holes are all clear, and that combustion is still occurring efficiently. - Blower Mechanism
Ensure the device used either to remove exhaust gases from the stove or move air over the heat exchanger and into the room is clean and working appropriately. - Heat Exchange
- Ensure that the heat exchange tubes are clean for efficiency.
- Exhaust System
Ensure this is removing combustion gases from the house in a safe and proper fashion. - Fresh Air Intake
Ensure this is clean and clear and drawing efficiently.
